Ojai Earth Day to be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Libbey Park

Residents are invited to attend the 2019 Ojai Earth event. The event, which will be hosted by Ojai Valley Green Coalition, will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Libbey Park, 269 E. Ojai Ave. Ojai, CA. 93023 .

Libbey Park offers a beautiful setting, perfect for community celebration, that will be ideal for continuing the conversation about advancing a green, sustainable, and resilient way of life.

4-6-19 Update: Pest Infestation on Gregory Street

The cleanup and abatement of the pest infestation at a property on Gregory Street continues. The City had previously completed fumigating the property. In recent days, the City has cleared trash, debris, and other items from the front of the property.

 

Additionally, the City is coordinating to have the interior of the property cleared and cleaned next week. The clean up is quite substantial, and is expected to take 6-7 days.

City of Ojai to Celebrate Certification as the First AGZA Green Zone® City in Ventura County.

The City of Ojai, along with the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (VCAPCD), will hold a ceremony celebrating certification as the first AGZA Green Zone City in Ventura County on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Libbey Park (210 S. Signal Street, Ojai, CA 93023). The event will be held at 11 am, and will include a demonstration of the City’s battery-powered equipment used to service all municipal park and landscape maintenance needs of the City.

Tips to Prevent and Control Pests

The City has performed pest abatement at the property on Gregory Street to address immediate threats to public health and safety, and to help prevent the spread of pests. The City would also like to take this opportunity to provide additional information, from the County of Ventura’s website, on preventing pests on your property.

Update Regarding Pest Infestation at Property on Gregory Street

3-22-19:

The City of Ojai is working with several agencies to finalize an abatement plan to safely and effectively address the pest infestation at a property on the 1200 block of Gregory Street.  The City is scheduled to move forward with abatement early next week.
