Community Development Director
INFO: The Community Development Director reports directly to the City Manager. The Director is responsible for overseeing the City’s Planning functions. In addition, the Director serves as liaison to the City’s Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission. The Director is served by two full-time Planning/Building Technicians, a full-time
Associate Planner, a part-time Assistant Planner, and contract building and safety inspectors.
Office Specialist I/II
INFO: The City is seeking a qualified person to serve as a full-time Office Specialist I or Office Specialist II, depending on qualifications. This is a key position, requiring strong customer service skills as this individual often serves as the face of City Hall, assisting and directing visitors entering City Hall. The position is also responsible to perform a variety of complex administrative and clerical duties, primarily in support of the Finance Department, as well as the City Clerk and other departments. The exact mix of responsibilities for the new Office Specialist I or II will be determined in accordance with the experience and strength of job candidates and the needs of the organization.
INFO: Performs professional-level work in current and long-range planning in the City’s Community Development Department. Education: Combination of training/experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field. Master’s degree desirable. Experience: Three years experience as a City or County planner, with some supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of CEQA and local government permitting processes. INFO: The Ojai Trolley Service is seeking a driver to join our team. This is a part-time position offering a salary range of $15.99 – $19.44. If you like people and like to drive, this may be for you. A Commercial Driver’s License is required; Passenger Endorsement preferred.
