Leaf blowers have been temporarily prohibited, through Sunday December 17, 2017 due to poor air quality and the risk of spreading more ash, smoke and particulates into the air.

 

Section 3-1.06(b)(1) states that, “In the event of the proclamation of a “local emergency”, as provided in this section, the proclamation of a “state of emergency,” the Director of Emergency Services is hereby empowered: To make and issue rules and regulations on matters reasonably related to the protection of life and property as affected by such emergency; provided, however, such rules and regulations shall be confirmed at the earliest practicable time by the City Council.”

 

The emergency declaration will be on the agenda at the 12/12/17 City Council meeting.
