A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Ojai, California on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the following Officers and Measures:
Two offices, a total of four (4) seats, will be voted on:
For Mayor (Full term of (two) years)
For (3) Members of the City Council (Full term of four years)
To qualify to run for these seats, potential candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the City of Ojai and a registered voter within the City of Ojai. Persons meeting these qualifications may take out nominations papers through the City Clerk Department at Ojai City Hall and have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, to file their nomination papers at the City Clerk Department.
If an incumbent does not file by close of business on the last day of the nomination period (August 10, 2018), the nomination period is extended for five calendar days, to August 15, 2018 for non-incumbents only. (Per California Election Code Section 10225.)
Two Measures will also be voted on:
Measure J: Shall the voters repeal Measure A and return to five elected City Council members and a Mayor selected from among the five elected City Council members?
Measure K: Shall the elected Mayor’s term of office, if retained, be changed from two years to four years?

An impartial analysis of each ballot measure is available to the public in the City Clerk Department. Deadline for filing arguments for or against each measure is 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2 2018.
