Voluntary evacuation ordered for Matilija Cyn and North Fork area north of Ojai due to incoming storm:

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has ordered a voluntary evacuation for Matilija Canyon and North Fork communities due to an incoming rainstorm expected to bring significant rainfall on March 13, 2018 beginning at 7:00 am. This notice affects all residents and businesses in those two communities north of the Ojai Valley.

Ventura County residents should visit for up-to-date information about evacuations, road closures, and storm impacts.

Community Beautification Day at Nordhoff High School on Saturday 3/24/18

All residents of the City of Ojai are invited to participate in the Residential Community Beautification Day on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Nordhoff High School (1401 Maricopa Highway). This event is intended for residential (not business) waste. Materials accepted include most appliances, bulky items, green waste, and metal. FEMA Disaster Recovery Center to close February 28 (english and espanol)

VENTURA, Calif. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that it will close its Disaster Recovery Center in Ventura at the end of the month. The last day of operations will be Wednesday, February 28.


The center has served more than 1,000 victims of the Thomas Fire since it opened on Jan. 19, but the number of clients visiting the center has recently fallen significantly.
