Useful Air Quality Link (AirNow) – 
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Park Service, tribal, state, and local agencies developed the AirNow system to provide the public with easy access to national air quality information. State and local agencies report the air quality index (AQI) for cities across the US and parts of Canada and Mexico.

All Leaf Blower’s Temporarily Prohibited Due to Poor Air Quality

Leaf blowers have been temporarily prohibited, through Sunday December 17, 2017 due to poor air quality and the risk of spreading more ash, smoke and particulates into the air.

 

Section 3-1.06(b)(1) states that, “In the event of the proclamation of a “local emergency”, as provided in this section, the proclamation of a “state of emergency,” the Director of Emergency Services is hereby empowered: To make and issue rules and regulations on matters reasonably related to the protection of life and property as affected by such emergency;

Flood Insurance Advisory

The City Manager, acting under his powers to remediate the effects of the local emergency declared on December 6, 2017 due to the significant wildfires in the Ojai Valley, advises that all Ojai residents immediately consider securing flood insurance that includes protection from losses caused by mud and debris-strewn water flows. As a result of the recent significant wildfire damage to the hills surrounding Ojai, when rain falls in the area this winter, there is a significant probability of mudflow and debris-strewn water flows from the burned hillsides down into the Valley and City.

A Useful Checklist for those Effected by the Thomas Fire

We are getting lists of useful tips on things to do if you are effected by the fire. This list will be posted below to help give a reminder of things to do. We’ll update it with other suggestions.
