Recent Weather Forecasts Show Moderate to Strong Santa Ana Wind Conditions in Ventura County: Some Important Items to Consider

The National Weather Service is forecasting moderate to strong Santa Ana wind conditions over most of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties late Wednesday (10/9) night through early Friday (10/11) evening. City of Ojai Libbey Bowl Fee Waiver Applications Now Available

The 2020 City of  Ojai Libbey Bowl fee waiver applications are now available. Those who wish to obtain an application, may do so by clicking here, to view the guidelines please click here

Completed application and all requested supporting materials must be received at Ojai City Hall by October 25, 2019. Applications may be mailed or submitted to: City of Ojai, 401 S. Ventura Street.

Today, October 3, 2019 marks California Clear air day, the City of Ojai has taken the pledge to do its part and help clean California’s air. Recently, the City has began using battery electric landscaping equipment and encourages resident to participate as well.

City Creates Ad-Hoc Committee to Develop Recommendations on City Approach to Climate Emergency Mobilization Issues

At the September 10, 2019, City Council meeting, the City Council discussed the formation of a Climate Emergency Mobilization Committee. The City Council ultimately created an ad-hoc study committee, comprised of five public members with knowledge and expertise in climate emergency mobilization issues and sustainability issues, each appointed by a City Council member.

The following members have been appointed:

  • Steve Colome (appointed by Mayor Johnston)
  • Michelle Ellison (appointed by Mayor Pro Tem Francina)
  • Jim Selman (appointed by Councilmember Haney)
  • Phil White (appointed by Councilmember Weirick)
  • Brian Holly (appointed by Councilmember Blatz)
