Public Works  Department Completes Pedestrian Crossing Improvement Project

On Thursday, June 13,  the City completed the installation of the   Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), a pedestrian crossing improvement project.

The City contracted with Civic Construction Associates to have the  Flashing Beacons installed along Ojai Avenue and Maricopa Highway.  The locations along Ojai Avenue include Canada Street, Blanche Street and Park Road. The locations along Maricopa Highway include Vallerio Avenue, Carrillo Road, Pirie Road, and Church Road.

The rapid flashing beacon pedestrian crosswalk system is a unique crosswalk solution to improve driver yield rates at uncontrolled pedestrian crossings and  is ideal for multi-lane crosswalks.

Creek Road Closure Between Country Club Drive and South Ventura Street- Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Creek Road will temporarily be closed on Thursday, June 13, 2019 between Country Club Drive and South Ventura Street due to tree maintenance.

Caltrans to Install Temporary Traffic Signals on State Route 150 Between Ojai and Santa Paula

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is set to install temporary traffic signals on State Route 150 between Ojai and Santa Paula, beginning Wednesday, June 12, as a reinforced concrete box culvert under the two-lane highway will be replaced.  Although this work will be conducted outside of City limits, motorists are advised to plan accordingly. Real-time highway and freeway traffic information is available online at the Caltrans Quickmap at quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
