Ventura County Public Health officials  have released several new restrictions effective March 18, 2020, in response to the coronavirus. The restrictions include the the temporary closure of certain businesses and shelter-in-place orders for vulnerable populations.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. all Ventura County residents age 75 and older are ordered to shelter in place through April 1. The shelter-in-place order also applies to residents age 70 and older with underlying health issues.

This order restricts public travel except for essential reasons such as medical care, nutrition or to perform necessary work in the fields of government or healthcare.

The order also restricts bars and restaurants to only provide take-out, delivery or drive-through services. All bars and nightclubs that do not prepare food will be ordered to close through April 1 beginning Wednesday. The County noted on Twitter that curbside pickup of beer and wine may be acceptable under the restriction.
